SA vs AUS, 4th Test: Steve Smith & Warner's absence is hurting Australia's performance
  • 6 years ago
Coming into the 4th and final Test of the series, Australia were in a place that was unknown to them. Both their captain and vice captain weren't a part of the squad anymore. And their coach, Darren Lehmann had resigned owing to what had transpired in the preceding Test match. After investigating the sandpaper gate, Cricket Australia banned both Steve Smith and David Warner for a year. Hence, coming into the final Test, the Australian squad was fighting a mental battle but losing it every now and then. The Australian bowling coach, David Saker in the press conference said that the team is not thinking of what's happening back at home but is struggling to come to terms with the players they've lost in the process. Australia lost the final Test by 492 runs which is the highest losing margin in 84 years in Test. How much longer will the scars of Steve Smith & David Warner affect Australian cricket?
