As soon as the ban was announced by Cricket Australia on Steve Smith, David Warner & Cameron Bancroft the world was shocked. No cricketer has ever been given such a harsh punishment when they were found guilty of ball tampering. But Cricket Australia made a strong statement to the world as to how important it was for them to keep the country above anything else. With this ban, Rajiv Shukla, the IPL Commissioner announced that both Steve Smith and David Warner won't be a part of IPL 2018. Both have stepped down from the captaincy of their respective franchisee. Warner has been the highest run-getter for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last four IPL seasons. Steve Smith on the other hand was instrumental in taking Rising Pune Supergiants to the finals of IPL 2017 under his leadership.
