As Hurricane Maria made landfall one year ago in Puerto Rico, one beloved meteorologist took to social media and whatever else she could find to help spread her message. Ada Monzon’s broadcasts reached over 31 million viewers and, not only saved lives, but generated a newfound interest in weather for many Puerto Ricans. AccuWeather’s Erik Austin spoke with Monzon in Puerto Rico and has her story.
