Leyburn farmer Roz Harman kitted out her newborn lambs in woolly jumpers and nappies after they lost their mothers during the severe drought gripping Queensland and New South Wales.The drought has left paddocks and crops barren and farmers in Australia’s east have struggled to find enough feed and water to keep their livestock alive.The Bureau of Meteorology said conditions were unlikely to improve drastically in spring, Reuters reported.Roz Harman told Storyful the lambs in the video were between two days and a week old. She said the little ones needed the woolly jumpers to survive without their mothers’ warmth, as their wool was too thin to handle the winter weather.“Nappies are for our benefit as it’s pretty hectic with six lambs in a small house pooing and weeing everywhere,” she said.A Facebook page called “Lamb Jumpers Helping Our Farmers” was established to provide the adorable little knits to farmers in need.
