S. Korea relying on nuclear and coal power for more than 70%

South Korea relies on coal and nuclear power for more than 70 percent of its energy needs.
According to a report made by energy company BP..., 26 percent of South Korea's power generation comes from nuclear power.... and 46-point-2 percent comes from coal..., highlighting the need for the country to diversify its energy production.
Only 2-point-8 percent of South Korea's power comes from renewable energy sources,... far below the OECD average of 12-point-2 percent.
Other developed countries such as the U.S. and Germany have more balanced power production.... coming from a range of renewable and non-renewable sources.
