The National Assembly adopted a report on a confirmation hearing for President Moon's nominee to head the National Human Rights Commission.
Choi Young-ae,... is set to become the first female chief of the human rights watchdog.
Actually, lawmakers held the hearing about a week ago, but were unable to adopt a report because the main opposition Liberty Korea Party called Choi unfit for the job -- citing reasons such as political orientation and views on homosexuality.
The parties, however, put the issue to a vote Monday and agreed to adopt the report, putting in both positive and negative opinions about the nominee.
