Charlton Athletic Game Stopped as Fans Protest Club Ownership With Crisp Protest

Charlton Athletic’s League One match against Fleetwood Town on August 25 was stopped after fans threw packets of crisps onto the pitch, protesting Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet’s running of the club.The crisps were distributed by fan group Campaign Against Roland Duchatelet outside of The Valley stadium shortly before kick-off.The game was delayed by a minute while the playing surface was cleared.A clip of the demonstration shared to Twitter had earned over 43,000 views at the time of writing.
