Typhoon Soulik to batter South Korea _ 082218

As we just reported,... the 19th typhoon of the season Soulik is approaching Korean Peninsula, it will be first time in 6 years for a typhoon to directly impact us.

Good morning, Mark. After grazing southern Japan earlier this week, we can see from the satellite that Typhoon Soulik is on track to sweep across the Korean Peninsula through Friday.

It's very likely to pass very near Jeju Island late tonight. Jeju and southern coastal regions will start to get affected first, the entire nation will see heavy showers and winds tomorrow.

The most significant damaging wind will occur from Jeju Island into western regions, with the strongest winds along coastal areas with a typhoon advisory in place for waters off Jeju Island.

Jeju and western regions will see heavy showers, Jeollado regions and Jeju could see up to 400 millimeters of downpours so be prepared.

We'll feel the hot and moist air sweeping the country, with highs ranging from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.
