Muggy day with showers in regions in the east and south _ 081618

Today is Malbok which officially marks the last day of hottest period of summer but it's forecast to be a hot day with showers in some parts.

Surprisingly, we are still seeing record breaking temperatures... Daejeon had an all time record high of 39.4 degrees Celsius yesterday... Meanwhile a heavy rain advisory is in place for parts of Gyeongsang-do and Jeolla-do provinces and Jeju Island.

Most regions in the east and south could see 10 to 80 millimeters of showers throughout the day.

Rain affected areas could see temperatures going down a bit. Daegu getting up to 31 degrees and Busan reaching 30. Seoul at 34.

Temperatures will remain below 35 degrees Celsius from now on here in Seoul, but tropical nights and very hot daytime temperatures will continue for the time being.
