An official from South Korea's foreign ministry says a probe is underway into whether a vessel said to be carrying banned North Korean coal... recently docked and departed from South Korea's western port city of Pyeongtaek .
It's not clear if the vessel unloaded any coal.
This follows a report by Voice of America on Sunday, citing the Marine Traffic website, that a Belize-flagged ship, the "Shining Rich," was spotted in Pyeongtaek last Thursday, local time,... and set sail for China on Saturday.
The ship is suspected of being used by North Korea to get around a UN Security Council ban on trading its goods.
