Police officers in Bloomfield, Connecticut, rushed to the aid of people trying to escape a burning home on July 31, as seen in this bodycam footage.The video shows people being helped to climb down a ladder from a window from which smoke is billowing. Rescuers bring in another ladder to help a person perched on the roof get down safely.The Bloomfield Police Department said both on- and off-duty police officers responded, along with firefighters and members of the community, and helped get four residents of the house and their dog out.“With the support of these heroes, two of these people were rescued from the second story of the home,” police said.
