California Cranston Fire Erupts to Almost 5,000 Acres, Forces Evacuations

California’s Cranston Fire grew to 4,700 acres and destroyed five homes by July 26, just one day after it sparked, according to ABC 7.Roughly 2,000 homes were evacuated in the Idyllwild, Lake Hemet, Apple Canyon, Mountain Center, Camp Scherman and Hurkey Creek areas.Police arrested Brandon McGlover on July 25 for allegedly setting multiple fires, including the Cranston Fire, according to Cal Fire.The San Bernadino National Forest tweeted that the fire began off Highway 74 between Hemet and Mountain Center, California.
