Hello I'm Michelle Park here with the latest weather update. The heat wave continues to scorch the nation, keeping the mercury stable at alarming levels. However, temperatures sudsided in Tokyo falling into the twenties.
As the evening heralds another tropical night, Seoul wakes up to 27 degrees and Daegu at 28.
Moving into the afternoon, Seoul tops at 35, Daegu and Gyeongju both soar up to 37 degrees.
The season's 12th Typhoon Jongdari, which is a name submitted by North Korea meaning a skylark,... is currently passing the sea near Okinawa, Japan. It will gradually dissipate in the east sea near Korea's Doko Island by Monday.
For the time being there's no sign of the instense heat easing under bright sunny skies.
