First heatwave advisory issued in Seoul, most regions suffer hot weather on Friday

It seems summer has come early here in Korea, with this year's first heatwave advisory being issued for Seoul today.
Many southern regions are also suffering under scorching conditions coupled with high ozone levels.

Most regions in South Korea, particularly the capital Seoul, experienced high temperatures and bad levels of ozone during the daytime on Friday. A heatwave advisory was issued in the capital for the first time this year with temperatures soaring to 33 degrees Celsius. Ozone advisories were issued in all 25 of Seoul's districts.
"It's so hot and hard to walk along the street."
"It's unexpectedly hot, which makes me sweat and get tired even after a short walk."
"Korea is having unusually high temperatures for May and bad ozone levels. Many citizens are wearing short-sleeved tops and even carrying parasols to keep them out of the sun."
Most other parts of the country also experienced scorching weather, including Gyeonggi-do Province, southern regions of Gyeongsang-do Province, Jeolla-do Province, and eastern Gangwon-do Province.
The Korea Meteorological Administration issues heatwave advisories when daily highs above 33 degrees Celsius are expected to last for more than two consecutive days.
There were also high levels of fine dust across the country.
High temperatures are expected to linger until this weekend. The weather agency advised citizens, especially children and the elderly, to stay indoors to avoid the heat and bad ozone levels.
