Torrential rains in southeastern Bangladesh have caused flooding and the risk of landslides in multiple Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar. This footage, uploaded on July 25 by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Head of Emergency Operations Kevin J. Allen, shows a glimpse of the flooding as well as structures in the Chakmarkul refugee settlement that are at risk of collapsing due to landslides.According to reports from Channel NewsAsia and Reuters, over a thousand people living in the Cox’s Bazar region, where multiple refugee camps are located, were forced to relocate due to the rains, and at least five non-Rohingya children from a village bordering the camps were killed in landslides.
