The joint Korean table tennis team of the South's Yoo Eun-chong and the North's Choe Il have been defeated by South Korea's third seeded pair in the mixed doubles.
In the round of 16 on Thursday morning at the Korea Open, Yoo and Choe put up a fight against the South Korean duo of Lee Sang-su and Jeon Ji-hee..., but eventually lost the match 3 sets to 1.
Although the joint Korean team's tournament run ended, they showed how well they can work together by winning their qualification round match on Tuesday..., despite having only two days of practice together before that match.
Meanwhile, another joint team of Jang Woo-jin and Cha Hyo-sim have advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating opponents from Hong Kong.
