A growing brush fire in Alpine, California, burned multiple homes as it spread rapidly over 350 acres along Interstate 8 on July 6, according to Fox 5 San Diego.The Cleveland National Forest also said homes were lost due to the blaze, dubbed the West Fire.Evacuations were ordered after the fire began to spread along Interstate 8, according to NBC Bay Area.Cal Fire reported that the fire was zero-percent contained and was growing at a “critical rate of speed.”Power lines in the area were damaged and 3,000 customers lost electricity, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
