River turns blood-red due to leak at mineral waste warehouse

A river in central China turned a shocking blood-red colour due to a mining waste leak.

In the video, shot in Lingbao City in Henan Province on June 26, blood-red water also runs into a nearby road.

According to reports, rainfall leaked into a warehouse containing the leftovers of mineral extraction, known as tailings, and a pipe leaked.

Drinking water supplies were not affected.
