Thunder, lightning and heavy rain of up to 30 millimeters an hour is in the forecast for the central region.
Torrential rains have been slamming the nation since Saturday, causing houses and rice paddies to flood and some rail services to be cancelled.
Hundreds of walking trails in 18 national parks have been closed as of Sunday.
Korea's national weather agency is also warning of the threat of flooding and landslides.
Making matters worse,... South Korea is also under the influence of Typhoon (pra-pee-roon) Prapiroon, a typhoon that formed near Japan's Okinawa Island a few days ago.
Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon says the central and municipal governments will be on 24-hour emergency alert until the country is out of the typhoon's influence.
He said the government will share up-to-date information about the typhoon and promptly take measures to prevent damage.
