Heavy showers accompanied by strong wind and lightning to lash Korea until Tuesday

The summer monsoon is bringing torrential rain to South Korea.
Heavy showers are expected until Tuesday.
As of 5:20 PM Sunday, the Korea Meteorological Administration had issued heavy rain alerts for the central and southern regions.
Thunder, lightning and heavy rain of up to 30 millimeters per hour are forecast.
Meanwhile, the heavy rain alert that was issued this morning was lifted for the capital city of Seoul, Gyeonggi and Chungcheongnam-do provinces.
Typhoon Prapiroon is expected to pass Jeju Island Monday afternoon.
Mokpo, as well as Seoul and other central areas are to be affected by the storm the following day on Tuesday.
Korea's national weather agency has also warned of flooding and landslides.
Prime Minister Lee Na-kyon says the central and municipal governments will be on a 24-hour emergency alert until the country is out of the typhoon's influence.
He vowed to share up-to-date information about the typhoon and promptly take measures to prevent damage.
