Hello, I'm Michelle Park here with the latest weather update. The heat wave is reaching its peak before the monsoon rain that's expected to arrive tomorrow. So bear the heat just a bit longer because we are going to have a cooler day on Tuesday.
The monsoon rain is expected to cover the nation by the morning. There is going to be a huge amount of rain. From tomorrow until Wednesday, more than half of the country will receive between 80 and 150 millimeters of rain. The capital region is generally expected to get between 30 to 80 millimeters, but some regions may get up to 120 millimeters of rain.
In the morning, Seoul will begin at 21 degrees Celsius, and most parts of the country will have similar readings.
With this much rain, the mercury will only rise a couple of notches. Seoul reaching 24, Gwangju 27 and Busan 25 degrees.
The rain in the capital will clear on Thursday, but the monsoon front will still affect the south until the end of this week. Afterwards, the nation can also expect another round of torrential rain.
