Monsoon rain to take a break but return tonight, heat advisory in Seoul 071819

Good morning. The monsoon front is still dropping heavy showers in the Southern provinces, but rain will taper off during the day and pick up later again tonight.

For a closer look, the Southern coastal regions are forecast see up to 250 millimeters of torrential rain, with a heavy rain warning being in issued in Jeju Island.

Meanwhile, those of us in the rain-free areas will see scorching temperatures with a heat advisory in place for Seoul and parts of Gangwon-do and Gyeonggi-do provinces.

High humidity will add to the discomfort, while daily highs will be in the twenties for rain-affected areas.

As for updates on Tropical Storm Danas, all South Korean residents need to be on high alert as the storm turned north on Wednesday and will continue on a northward track,... possibly impacting the Korean Peninsula from Friday to Sunday. Let's all monitor this storm closely.
