Trump extends sanctions on North Korea by another year, despite recent thaw in relations
  • 6 years ago
U.S. President Donald Trump has extended economic sanctions against North Korea for another year,... saying its nuclear weapons threat is "unusual and extraordinary."
Trump notified Congress of his decision on Friday.
The White House has extended the sanctions every year, since they were first imposed in 2008.
The move comes despite the recent thaw in North Korea-U.S. relations after the two leaders met in Singapore for their historic summit.
