Anti-ICE Activists Change California Billboard to Read, 'We Make Kids Disappear'
A group of guerrilla art activists transformed a billboard in Emeryville, California, in the early hours of June 21, to say, “We make kids disappear,” attributing the quote to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).The activist art collective INDECLINE posted a video showing three people dressed in black transforming the 1-800-GOT-JUNK billboard just off a freeway. A member of the group told a local news outlet he had been doing similar acts of vandalism for 17 years and never been arrested or fined specifically for vandalizing billboards.Representatives of Clear Channel, which owns the billboard, told local media they were aware of the vandalism and planned to repair, replace or remove the advertisement by the end of the day.
