Acrobatic pizza maker Chef Barbasso entertained diners at a special event at the Millennium Seoul Hilton on Wednesday evening.
Chef Pasqualino Barbasso is the World Champion of Acrobatic Pizza. He makes the pizza dough dance rhythmically. The act never fails to surprise and bring smiles to people's faces.
Barbasso makes it look easy - juggling the pizza dough like a frisbee and stretching it into monstrous lengths of paper-thin dough.
Pizza making is in Barbasso's blood. He was practically "born" in his family's pizzeria, Falco Azzuro in Cammarata, Italy, where he still works when he's not traveling the world. He underwent formal training as a pizza chef, but just making regular pizza was never enough for Barbasso.
"It was like a joke... After I understand how to make good Italian pizza, the next step was to learn how to play with pizza… If you want to improve yourself you have to find something different and much more better… acrobatic pizza was the best way."
For the past 15 years, Barbasso has traveled the world, showing off his stunning acrobatic pizza performances. And he hopes to continue visiting new places, meeting new people and making high quality pizza in his own entertaining way.
