National body's Bellandur SOS, it's become B'luru septic tank; CM too busy 'cleaning cabinet'

Once called the city of lakes, Bengaluru is now grappling with a severe environmental crisis so much so that many believe the city once considered to be the perfect place for habitat because of its weather and scenic beauty may not be habitable by 2025. As the city's biggest lakes, Bellandur has not turned into a septic tank. The court appointed commission has lambasted Karnataka government and its various agencies who have miserably failed to discharge their duties in preserving and cleaning the Bellandur lake. The commission stated that the biggest lake of Bengaluru doesn’t even have 1 ml of clean water left in it. The report added that the water holding capacity of the lake has rapidly shrunk due to indiscriminate dumping of construction and waste as untreated sewage continues to be dumped into the lake. That’s out big debate on Speak Out India. Bellandur lake which shows the horrible incompetence of Karnataka government is also symptomatic of the larger issue facing India that of serious environmental concerns.
