Jacob Campoamor was out fishing with his family off the coast of Anna Maria Island in Florida on Saturday, June 2, when they spotted a group of five whale sharks in the water.Campoamor, whose family has owned a home on the island for 50 years, told FLKeysNews, “We see a lot of cool stuff, but this is the first time seeing whale sharks.”Researchers in Florida have called on the public to report further sightings.
