The percentage of online shopping transactions made through smartphones hit a record high here in the nation.

According to Statistics Korea, Koreans made more than 5 billion U.S. dollars of such purchases using smartphones during that month, up 33-point-6 percent from 2017.
This growing trend contributed to a 22-percent increase in the total amount of online shopping transactions compared to the year before.
Food and cosmetics saw the biggest increases, marking 73-point-2 and 38-point-3 percent on-year spikes, respectively.
