Learner crashes into driver who lost his false leg

Instructor Chris Sharp, 57, was sat alongside the rookie – who was only on his SIXTH lesson - when an oncoming Ford strayed into their lane and smashed into their Vauxhall Corsa. It later transpired that the dopey driver had been desperately attempting to reattach his false leg, which had become lodged underneath the brake pedal. Extraordinary dashcam footage captures the moment of the devastating crash, which left Chris with a swollen hand and the nervous learner hospitalised with whiplash. The nerve-jangling video shows the Corsa nervously slow down as the other car gradually moves further into their lane. Just before the moment of impact, the camera cuts out due to the inflation of the opening airbags. Both the instructor’s and crasher’s cars were written off in the smash, which took place at 9.30am on Monday (6/3) and blocked off Chell Heath Road in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs.
