Arsonist sparks bakery inferno in Finchley, north London

In CCTV footage released by cops the suspect in a motorcycle helmet poured fuel on across the floor of the bakery before striking a match and slamming the door as flames engulfed the business. The huge blaze took fire crews eight pumps to extinguish and while smoke alarms were in place, they had been covered and did not work. Within moments the fire ripped through the kitchen and other areas, filling the room with smoke, so hot even the CCTV footage is affected by the searing heat. Cops are hunting a suspect wearing a distinctively patterned crash helmet, jacket trousers, gloves and black and white trainers at the scene just before 5am on March 14.
