Shopkeeper could end up losing his sight after he was shot in the face during a brutal robbery
Detectives have released CCTV footage of the horrifying robbery – which saw the helpless worker being blasted with a high-powered pellet gun before the raiders made off with the till.
The incident, captured on the store’s cameras, saw the 44-year-old shopkeeper cowering as he was blasted several times in the face by the ball-bearing gun, as the second crook leant over the counter and stole the entire cash register.
Met Police are investigating the robbery, at a convenience store in Brixton, south east London, on at about 8:35pm on October 25.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for wounds to his face.
Officers say some of the pellets lodged in the victim’s eyes and he will require further surgery to remove them and to save his sight.
The robbery on Sunday, October 25, is being investigated by Met's Flying Squad, who have described both men as twenties and of medium build.
Detective Constable Ben Turner of the Met's Flying Squad, said: "This was a vicious attack that could have left a man blinded. We desperately want to find the men responsible for this crime.
"They used gratuitous violence to carry out this robbery and are clearly dangerous. I would ask anyone with information to come forward and help us catch these dangerous, violent men."
