75-year-old landlady set to pour final pint after 43 years behind the bar – despite NEVER touching a drop
Grandma Martha McGrath, the longest-serving publican in north London, has been serving punters at the Lord Southampton for more the four decades – and more than a million pints. Now, with less than a week to go until she serves up her last round, Martha, who also raised her daughter in the pub, said the prospect of retirement “hasn't quite hit” her. She said: “I think I'm going to sleep for a week when I'm finished. “It’s all been so quick that it hasn't sunk in that we’re leaving yet.”
