The birds of prey and their newborn chicks are this year's chosen contestants on Ospreywatch - the feathered equivalent of the popular Channel 4 surveillance show. But despite being housed high in the sky, the ospreys are much more down to earth than the latest group of Big Brother housemates, and have little interest in playing up to the HD cameras that watch their every move. The 24/7 rolling footage of the ospreys at Bassenthwaite Lake in the Lake District is drawing interest from around the world, as the footage focuses on the breeding activities of the wild birds. Ospreys are fish eating birds, and when fully grown, they have a wingspan of up to 1.7m.
