A herd of around 22 wild goats are roaming around the town of Ennis, in Ireland’s County Clare, creating hazardous situations for themselves and local humans, according to reports. These videos, posted in late April and early May by Cootes Shop and Bakery, show the goats out and about town. According to the bakery, the local authorities have been contacted and a plan to remove and rehome them is being put together. In a direct message, Cootes Shop and Bakery said: “Over 100 farmers around the country have offered to take them, a lot of ground work has to commence but it’s looking like they’ll have a safe home by Wednesday.”As for where the goats came from? Cootes says: “I live beside a wooded area called the rocky road, an woman who died over 60 years ago used to live nearby and she had a lot of goats. After she died there was nobody there to mind them and they have just lived in the rocky ever since. But in my 33 years I’ve never seen them out around the town. In recent months, entrances to the area have been occupied with illegal encampments which locals believe is the cause of the goats getting out.”Local officials were reportedly hoping the local government would round up the goats and re-home them in a rural or farm environment, away from the town.
