Satellite imagery suggests North Korea demolishing nuclear test site: WP
  • 6 years ago
North Korea is beginning to demolish its Punggye-ri nuclear test site.
According to Thursday's Washington Post... a steady reduction in the number of buildings in the area could be seen over the past two weeks.
Commercial satellite images show five or six buildings have come down.
These were relatively small structures near the north and south portals and the entrances to the main tunnels.
An expert in non-proliferation studies told the Post... this could be part of Kim Jong-un's move to dismantle the test site by May... which is a pledge the young leader made during the historic inter-Korean summit last month.
