The latest in the Cauvery row with an eye on the Karnataka polls, the Center today asked for 10 more days from the Supreme Court to submit the scheme draft policy. The centre said that it had framed the draft but need time to finalize it. This comes after the sc took a strong view of the govt not framing the Cauvery management scheme to implement its verdict on water sharing between four southern states. In the last hearing the Karnataka govt had told the supreme court that it had already supplied 116.697 Tmcft. Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu and is not in a condition to release 4tmc water to Tamil Nadu as directed by the SC.
