A man and his 10-year-old daughter were rescued by the US Coast Guard in the early hours of Sunday, April 29, after their tugboat ran aground and started taking on water near the Poquoson Flats in Virginia at the mouth of the York River. The USCG were notified by the man’s wife, who reported that they were supposed to have arrived at a marina in Hampton, Virginia, but never showed up. According to the press release, the pair had to be airlifted because the water was too shallow for rescue boats to reach them. Credit: USCG Mid-Atlantic via Storyful
