Pakistan Supreme Court bans Nawaz Sharif from office for life
  • 6 years ago
Pakistan Supreme Court on Friday ruled that politicians who have been legally disqualified will be banned from holding an elected office for life. This ruling directly affects former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He was disqualified from office in July 2017 over corruptions of allegations. The Panama Papers leak had revealed that his family holds millions of dollars worth of property in UK and other parts of the world. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court had also ordered removal of Sharif as the president of the ruling party, PML-N.
