People & Business - Chef Christina Tosi and the Power of Taking Risks & the Magic Behind Momofuku Milk Bar

Passion. Grit. Dedication. Three things that built your favorite Bakery shop. Milk bar.

Christina Tosi was not so happy working with find dine restaurants. Even though she rushed to finish her engineering courses for culinary school. Why? Coming from a home where her parents followed their passion, Christina wanted to follow hers. Make people happy with her cookies!

Baking always made her smile from her childhood. She eventually ended up at Momofuku noodle Bar Empire. David Chang’s Momofuku became her home and she enjoyed her time there. After work, she’d bake through the night. And bring the baked items to the eatery. David recognized her passion, and gave her seed money to start her own business.

From the Milk Bar was born. All through passion. Grit. Dedication.

Christina has made many headlines in top publications and television programs, such as the wall street journal, late night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan and the today show, has covers of ad week and cherry bombe.

She was named one of the most innovative women in food and drink by food & wine and Fortune Magazine for her tremendous work ethic and creative ingenuity.

She has an unstoppable and free-spirited approach to life and inspiring achievements make her one of the most well-rounded and desirable chefs in the world.

Christina is a two-time James beard award winner. She is the author of two highly acclaimed cookbooks, Momofuku milk bar, which highlights the favorites from the milk bar kitchen, and milk bar life, an inside look at milk bar’s fun-loving culture and off-the-clock recipes that are easy to make at home.
