The South Korean government has vowed to go all out to try to solve the current trade dispute with the United States.
Speaking in a local radio interview on Friday, Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon said the ministry is trying its best to prevent Washington imposing tariffs on South Korean steel, and that if Seoul's demands are not met, the ministry will consider taking actions.
When asked if these actions included imposing retaliatory tariffs, Kim said it's too early for such decisions as negotiations with the U.S. are still ongoing.
Regarding Washington's safeguard measures on Korean washing machines, he said the ministry is looking into filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization.
