Mounting legal delay as Indian security forces add another “case”.
Tomorrow, 20 February Jagtar Singh Johal will be produced in a new case FIR No. 63 (dated 26-06-2017) under Section 25 Arms Act, at Police station Bajakhana (Faridkot) in the court of duty magistrate Atul Kamboj.
The Indian government, acting through the Punjab Police and the NIA have, since 4th November 2017 added multiple cases to cause massive legal delay, violating due process to illegally detain Jaggi for as long as possible.
Already Jaggi has spent 108 days on pre-trial remand, detained without charges and subjected to torture. This new case is a continuation of India’s oppressive policing/investigative tactics. At this rate it’ll be years before the allegations against Jaggi are even heard in court.
