Delhi Police fines people smoking in public places, Watch Video | Oneindia News

To spread awareness among the people regarding the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), the Delhi Police on Wednesday started imposing fine on people who were smoking in the public places. The police have conducted the drive in southeast Delhi and other places on 30 December, January 3, 6 and 10. Over 4,500 people were challaned under this drive. As per the COTPA-2003 Act, no tobacco product can be sold near the 100-metre radius of an educational institution. No person shall smoke in any public places and no-smoking area.
