Horses were led out of a building after a fire engulfed a near by parking garage next to the Echo Arena in Liverpool on December 31.Three horses were led out of the ground floor of the car park, as multiple fire engines fought the blaze. This footage was captured by Lucia Thomas, who said she was exiting the car park in her car when other drivers stopped and abandoned their vehicles. She and her daughter fled their vehicle, which was likely burned in the blaze, she said.Thomas told Storyful that at first she thought a car had overheated. “Then, it was thick black smoke, but no flames visible,” she said. “I was optimistic they would get it under control or contain it on one level, but it just spread.”The car park caught fire in the late afternoon on December 31 as a horse show was taking place at the Echo Arena. The mayor of Liverpool said the show was cancelled.Other footage shows flames engulfing the top three stories of the car park, and smoke choking the air.No injuries were reported from the blaze.
