So it sounds like Matt Lauer is happy to just disappear and stay out of the public spotlight, according to reports.

That’s right, the disgraced journalist, who was fired from the Today Show in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations is completely content with moving out to the Hamptons, focusing on his family, and working on his golf game.

And get this – he has no intention of staging a Billy Bush style comeback.

One source told Page Six that he wants to be a regular Joe, and he’s going to stick to his one statement and not address the allegations any further.

Another source told People that he’s weak and broken and ashamed by his own admission.

Lauer was fired after more than 20 years at the flagship morning program after a female colleague came forward and accused him of sexual misconduct.

Since she came forward seven other women have accused Matt of similar behavior
