Trump On McCain's Remarks: 'At Some Point I Fight Back And It Won't Be Pretty'

President Trump had a sharp reaction to John McCain's remarks on Monday.

President Trump on Tuesday issued a warning to Senator John McCain, saying he will, “at some point…fight back and it won’t be pretty.”
The promise of retaliation followed comments made by McCain on Monday night as he accepted the Liberty Medal.
“To abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history," the Arizona senator said during his address.
In a Tuesday morning interview on ‘The Chris Plante Show,' Trump was asked about McCain's remarks.
“People have to be careful because at some point I fight back," the president said. “You know, I'm being very nice. I'm being very, very nice. But at some point I fight back and it won't be pretty."
McCain shared his reaction to Trump's comment with CBS News.
“I have faced some pretty tough adversaries in the past," McCain stated. "I'm not interested in confronting the president, I'm interested in working with the president."
