Margaret Atwood (CC, O.Ont.) is the author of more than forty books of fiction, poetry, and critical essays. Her novels include The Blind Assassin, winner of the Booker Prize, and Alias Grace, which won the Giller Prize. Her acclaimed MaddAddam trilogy is being adapted for HBO, while The Handmaid’s Tale has been developed for an upcoming television series through MGM and Hulu. Atwood is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. She lives in Toronto with writer Graeme Gibson. She was appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1981.
