F-16 Catches Fire During Takeoff at Ellington Field

The pilot of an F-16 jet attempting to take off from Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston, Texas, on June 21, was forced to eject after the plane “caught fire on the ground”, according to the fire department.A statement issued by the City of Houston said that Ellington Field was evacuated as a security precaution and the pilot was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.
