One day before the first anniversary of the worst mass shooting in US history, victims who died at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub shooting were remembered by participants in the Los Angeles Pride Parade on Sunday, June 11.The parade included 49 giant purple balloons, intended to symbolize each of the 49 people killed, according to the Los Angeles Times. The balloons were released, which can be seen in this video.Sunday’s LA Pride event was more protest march than traditional parade, carrying with it the name #ResistMarch, the Times reported. The change was inspired by the Women’s March in January, and was intended to protest the perceived devaluing of human and civil rights by the administration of President Donald Trump.
