Sambar Deer Swim, Inspect Camera at Victorian Bushland Pond

Two sambar deer were caught on camera at a pool of water in Yarra Valley bushland, in footage published by a volunteer Landcare group on Thursday, May 25.The group released two videos. In one, a sambar stag spots the camera and walks close to the lens to discover more. In the other, a deer of the same species playfully swims in the pool, apparently enjoying the refreshing dip.Deer, an introduced species, are considered pests in Victoria, and have caused extensive damage to property in the Upper Yarra Valley.
