Katy Perry In Talks to Judge American Idol

So Katy Perry is the latest name thrown into the mix to join the American Idol reboot when it hits ABC… and we think it’s a pretty good idea.

According to Page Six, the network is in talks with the pop star to join the series when it comes back to your small screen in March 2018.

Funny thing is, there’s a rumor she was approached to join the show during it’s previous run, but she turned down the producers at the time. It should also be noted that she turned down offers from the X-Factor back in the day, so Idol probably didn’t take it to heart.

But now that her name is in the mix, people are starting to wonder.

The news comes in the wake of the heated competition to fill coaches’ seats on both Idol and The Voice… the latter announcing AI alums like Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson joined their production.

Ryan Seacrest is also rumored to have turned down Idol, and so has Simon Cowell.

Kind of makes you wonder if they can get anyone at this point.
